THREE MUSEUMS; THREE MUST VISITS
The trio of exhibition centers that make up the ends of Plateforme 10 are in themselves worth a visit. The Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts (MCBA), inaugurated in 2019, aims to be an open place, a forum that encourages exchanges between visitors, artists and the institution.
In addition to the permanent presentation of the collection, the MCBA offers about ten temporary exhibitions a year, thematic or monographic: ancient and modern art, international contemporary art and local emerging scene. In addition, it houses the foundations Toms Pauli and Felix Vallotton.
The Élysée Museum, for its part, is one of the most important museums dedicated entirely to the Photography. Through its innovative exhibitions, its reference publications and its events, it questions the foundations of the discipline and makes it known to a wide audience. Soon will open a new building.
The mudac it is the only museum in French-speaking Switzerland dedicated exclusively to contemporary applied arts and design. His approach is characterized by his policy of openness and exchanges between the various disciplines of contemporary creation. The new art district that constitutes Plateforme 10 will allow mudac to participate in the exceptional dynamics created by the meeting of three museums dedicated to visual creation, to carry out large-scale projects, including large-format pieces, as well as to develop projects in situ.
