Plastiflex Group Expansion: Acquisition of Turkish Factory and Diversification of Portfolio

Plastiflex, a company from Beringen that makes hoses and plastic injection molded parts for the world market, has taken over a factory with 100 employees in Turkey. This means that the group, which is owned by the British investment fund IK Partners, exceeds the 1,000-employee mark. Earlier this year, IK Parnters took over GoodLife Foods, producer of snacks such as Bicky Burger, Mexicano and Beckers.

Plastiflex Group, with headquarters in Paal-Beringen, has 9 factories, of which 2 in China and 2 in North America. It employs approximately 1,000 people, with a consolidated turnover of 130 million. The most recent addition to these 9 locations is R-Vent Medikal, a Turkish manufacturer (from Izmir) of (mainly) anesthesia products. They will now use Plastiflex’s premium hoses and components to offer a total package of finished circuits for hospitals and other medical facilities.

Piet Gruwez, CEO of the Plastiflex Group, is happy with the acquisition: “This acquisition is a new step in our journey to be a one-stop-shop for our healthcare customers. We see strong synergies with our Turkish partner.”

The transaction highlights the ambition of the shareholders, who came on board the Plastiflex Group two years ago. Owner IK Partners thus diversifies the portfolio. A few months ago, IK Partners took over a completely different company: the snacks factory with brands such as Bicky Burger, Mexicano and (Lekkers van) Beckers. Nothing to play in through a plastic tube…
