Pierre Guthrie, damage that can open the personal bag “I want you to respect” / GP F1 Mexico[F1-Gate.com]

Pierre Gasly urged fans to show more respect for the drivers when they enter the F1 paddock.

Only a limited number of people can access the paddock, which has become increasingly crowded in recent races. The F1 drivers discussed the resulting problems during the regular race weekend meeting on Friday.

Pierre Gasly said he found an open bag containing his personal belongings. Formula 1 raced this weekend at the Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico and visited the Circuit of the Americas in the United States a week ago.

Pierre Gasly believes that some admitted fans in the F1 paddock are not doing the right thing.

“I think it’s okay to let people in, but it’s true that some guests don’t really respect the space we need,” Gasly told RaceFans.

“We have people who enter the garage before qualifying asking for photos even if they are not fans of our team. We work here and of course we dedicate as much time as possible to our fans. But this weekend I didn’t dare leave hospitality.”

Pierre Gasly said the problem wasn’t limited to this weekend’s race, noting that his bag had been opened twice in the last two rounds.

“When I arrived at the Hospitality yesterday morning, my passport was in my bag, but it was open. I don’t remember leaving it open,” said Gasly.

“Obviously it wasn’t me, it wasn’t the manager. When he saw it, he immediately closed it. But when he left the paddock, the same thing happened with Austin.”

Pierre Gasly believes that security measures need to be increased.

“I feel that at the moment there is no safety in Formula 1 and maybe something can be done,” said Gasly.

“But as I said before, I always give my fans as much time as possible. It’s not that nobody wants it, it’s just to find a way to make them happy.”

“We talked about it in the driver briefing. I think it’s nice to see the kids and people really enjoying themselves, but how can they figure out where they can come to us and the time to give them a little more space. to find

Pierre Gasly’s concerns were shared by Lando Norris, who said the pilot wanted to interact with fans rather than avoid them.

“Personal space and things like that are not respected as they should,” said Lando Norris.

“They should feel lucky to be in the paddock and as close as we are.”

F1 drivers are trying to keep in touch with fans, Lando Norris said.

“It’s easy for us to always take the back roads and have people literally pushing us away and not signing anything,” said Lando Norris.

“But we didn’t. We would love to do those things and walk in the paddock and things like that. But we need a little more respect from people for our personal space, boundaries and things. Is.”

The only Mexican F1 driver, Sergio Perez, reassured his fellow drivers about the enthusiasm of the local fans.

“Of course the Mexicans are very enthusiastic, but they are great people,” said Perez.

“They never hurt anyone. It’s good to see him. You don’t see him in many other countries. So it’s nice to have some fun with F1.”
