Pianist Diāna Zandbergs has recorded piano music by 13 Latvian composers in his album

The recording was made under the direction of sound directors Jāzeps Kulbergs and Jānis Zandbergs from 2011 to 2021.

“It is important for a musician to be aware of his roots and to promote the performance of his native speakers, so I am happy to discover valuable, as yet unadjusted piano manuscripts, as well as to enrich the range of Latvian piano music recordings in collaboration with contemporary composers,” said Diāna Zandberga. In the USA, he has premiered dozens of piano works by various composers and recorded eight solo albums. Diāna Zandberga, Doctor of Arts and Researcher of Latvian Piano Music, is the Director of the Professional Doctoral Study Program of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and a lecturer at the Department of Piano.

On March 12, at 8 pm Latvian time, the presentation concert “And Again in the Morning …” by Diāna Zandberga’s album “Latvian Piano …” will be held online, organized by the Latvian Cultural Association “Tilts” in cooperation with Sigulda Art School “Baltais flīģelis” and “Skani” . After the concert, the conversation with Diāna Zandbergs and composers will be led by the head of the Latvian Music Information Center and the national record company “Skani”, clarinetist Egīls Šēfers.

The organizers of the event promise: “The presentation concert will feature gorgeous and stylistically diverse music by Latvian composers – from the enlightened miniatures of Imants Zemzars, Pēteris Vasks and Selga Mences to the dramatic” Frosted Horizon “by Ēriks Ešenvalds The old man’s humorous and brilliantly virtuoso paraphrase “Quasi Carmen”, as well as Mārīte Dombrovska’s “Impressions for piano and electronics”, in which pianist Diāna Zandberga will perform a dance episode created by choreographer Gunta Liepiņa. “
