Although the people of Liepāja cannot see these works, because they are taking place in the internal areas of the port, what is happening is worth paying attention to – the impressively sized composite construction parts are made in Saldu, due to their size, they arrive in parts in Liepaja, where they will be assembled and loaded onto ships for delivery to Norway.
The structures will serve to protect oil and gas pipelines under water in the sea.
The company “Norplast Piemare”, which started work in Liepāja in 2021, was the first Liepaja SEZ company with Norwegian capital, while last year it became a part of “ENTEC Group As”, which is one of the leading creators of composite material solutions.
Currently, “Norplast Piemare” is also carrying out expansion works, so that in the new building large-sized constructions can be made directly on the spot closer to the ship piers, which will facilitate the logistics of large-sized cargoes between Latvia and Scandinavia.
