In the first part of the concert, singer and pianist Katrīna Gupalo played the music of Imants Kalniņš in her arrangements for voice and piano. In the second part, the musician was joined by trumpet player Christian Kalva and electronic music artist Oriole – Katrīna Gupalo’s original compositions from the album “Gentle & Done”, unreleased compositions, as well as songs by Kurt Veil, better known from the repertoire of The Doors and Lewis Armstrong. The culmination of the evening was the expressive performance of Imants Kalniņš’s favorite song “Dūdieviņš”, in which the musicians were joined by choreographer and dancer Lauma Berga.

Katrīna has released her debut album “Gentle and Done”, went on the first US concert tour, warmed up the British soul music duo Emeli Sandē in the concert hall “Palladium”, performed at the festival “Laima Vaikule Re’dez – Vous Jūrmala 2018” in Dzintari concert hall, played in “Supernova 2018” self-composed song “Intoxicating Caramel”. Recently released songs “SKIRT?” and “Freddy will not sing anymore”, as well as the music of Imants Kalniņš in Katrīna’s interpretation have attracted a lot of attention in the media and the love of great listeners in concerts. As a professional pianist, Katrīna conjures up gorgeous sound paintings with her voice accompanied by a piano.
