1 Make Money: Take Photos, Find Bones & Use Insurance | Phasmophobia
Who in Phasmophobia concentrates solely on the fulfillment of the main goal, will only get money very slowly. Fortunately, the horror game has a few options to increase your profit – unfortunately we won’t tell you about this in the tutorial.
Money plays an essential role in Phasmophobia: It allows you to buy items in the shop that can help identify the type of ghost or give you valuable protection from the apparitions.

make photos
The camera is one of the standard equipment of a ghost hunter. So you automatically have it with you in every mission and you can’t lose it if you die virtually. With one exception: If you buy an additional camera in the in-game shop, it will be lost if the ghost hunt fails.
This means that the most important item for fundraising is definitely in the truck every time the mission starts. Five photos you can shoot with one camera – if you want to do several, you need another copy.
Certain objects in the game will bring you money if you photograph them. The following applies: You receive five dollars for each photographed item of evidence in a category. If you take several photos of the same piece of evidence or the same category, you will not receive any additional money for them.
You will also get higher rewards if you play on a harder difficulty level. On Advanced you get ten dollars and up Professional $ 15 per picture. Of course, these pictures have to make it out of the ghost place – you have to finish the mission successfully.
You will receive money for photographing the following pieces of evidence:
- Fingerprints: If you discovered fingerprints of a ghost, take a picture of it. Incidentally, the imprint does not necessarily have to be visible on the photo.
- Footprints: Use salt and a UV lamp to reveal such evidence. As with fingerprints, footprints do not necessarily have to be visible on the photo.
- Geist: If you photograph the presence yourself, you could not only have fulfilled one of the optional goals, but also expect a cash win of $ 5.
- Ghost interactions: Any ghost activity that can be detected visually. For example, the ghost book painted by a ghost.
- Bone: If there is a bone lying around in the haunted house, you can not only take a photo of it, but also take it with you for additional money. More on that later.
- Corpse: If you play in co-op mode and a team member has not made it, you can take a photo of his corpse to receive money.
- Ouija Brett: All you have to do is “activate” the Ouija board and then take a photo. The mind doesn’t have to interact with it.
- Dirty water: Also among the optional destinations is taking photos of dirty water in a sink.
Find bones
Bones are not always easy to find. While they can occasionally be found in the middle of the floor of a haunted house, they are usually much better hidden. Mainly because the bones can appear almost anywhere on the map, you need the Take a close look at the premises. It is not uncommon for them to be found directly in other objects such as carpets, towels or plates.
Should you find a bone, take a photo of it and then take it with you. You will receive two cash rewards and additional experience points in one fell swoop. The sum of money and XP depends on the level of difficulty:
- Amateur: $ 10 (with photo $ 15)
- Advanced: $ 20 ($ 30 with photo)
- Pro: $ 30 (with photo $ 45)
The insurance
In Phasmophobia a kind of insurance takes effect, should a ghost have sent you across the Jordan. This insurance is activated automatically and reimburses you Part of the money you spent on equipment.
For explanation: If you buy additional equipment in the in-game shop and take it with you on a mission, special care is required. Should you die, all of these items will be lost. Tip: As a beginner, you should complete some missions without additional equipment. Only when you have understood the game mechanics and optimized your approach is it advisable to bring additional equipment on board. If that works too, you can face tougher challenges.
