Peugeot – always charge well…

The lion middle class – the 508, sedan and station wagon – is now also available with a plug-in hybrid drive. Plug-in – this means: The car or its battery can / must be charged at the socket. The 508 Hybrid 225 (the correct name) has two engines – one petrol engine with 180 HP, one electric motor with 110 HP – results in a system output of 225 HP (plus a torque of 360 Newton meters).

Purely electric (emission-free) can go up to 54 or 52 kilometers, provided the 11.5 kWh battery is full. Also means: from (each) 1.3 liters of Super 95 per 100 kilometers – and from 28 or 30 grams of CO2 per kilometer (all values according to WLTP). Everything is wonderful! Only: once the battery is empty, the fuel consumption logically increases – seven or eight liters are already possible. But that’s okay for a car of this size. Nevertheless: Always be good and regularly “fill up” with electricity! Charging takes about three hours via a 3.7 kW wall box, and it is a good six and a half hours at the socket. So both are easy going out at night.

“The plug-in hybrid version of the 508 is highly efficient and sets standards in its segment!” Silvia Rieger, director of Peugeot Austria

There is nothing to criticize in terms of performance and driving comfort. Noise in the city and powerful on the highway are child’s play thanks to four different driving modes at the push of a button in the center console. In electric mode (up to 135 km / h) the driver can expect a pleasantly quiet ride. Sport mode is particularly powerful, while hybrid mode scores with its versatility.

And (last but not least) the comfort mode combines the hybrid mode with the comfort of the controlled suspension. Cool: With the e-Save function, the driver decides when he wants to drive purely electrically. A certain range of ten kilometers, 20 kilometers or the full capacity can be saved for later trips. The neighbors will be thankful for the quiet nights.
