Despite those absent from the mark, five Formula 1 drivers will take part in the Virtual Grand Prix this weekend, on the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, alongside a certain Petter Solberg.
To offset the postponement of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands, which should have made its return to Zandvoort this weekend, Formula 1 is organizing a new Virtual Grand Prix on F1 2019 this Sunday. As the Dutch route was not available on last year’s game, the race will take place at Interlagos following a survey: the Brazilian track collected more than half of the 40,000 fan votes.
We regret two absent brand: once is not custom, the drivers McLaren Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz will not be on the starting grid. On the other hand, we can count on the presence of Alexander Albon, Antonio Giovinazzi, George Russell, Nicholas Latifi and Charles Leclerc for this 28-lap race, without forgetting a line-up more than interesting at Renault: the brand at losange hires his protégé Christian Lundgaard alongside the 2003 World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg.
“Rally has always been everything to me, but I had the chance to drive an F1 earlier in my career!” says Solberg, who tested a Ferrari F2005 in 2009. “It’s kind of cool to start in a Formula 1 race at this point in my life. It’s actually really cool.”
“We are all changing our habits with the situation in which the world is plunged and I am really looking forward to driving with Christian. His father Henrik and I faced each other younger, so I am delighted to have a team member from ‘a good rally family.’

As usual, other stars from diverse backgrounds will be present, such as cricketers Stuart Broad and Ben Stokes at AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing respectively, as well as AC Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli .
