Petříček did not want to comment on the calls for the resignation of the Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch (for YES). However, according to him, the matter could be one of the points of Monday’s meeting of the governing coalition.

The opposition civic democracy called for Vojtěch to resign or dismiss. In the program, MEP Alexandr Vondra (ODS) described the government’s behavior in the event of an epidemic spreading in the Moravian-Silesian Region as a tragic omission and failure to cope.

According to Petříček, the government does not deal with regional issues, it is within the competence of regional hygienic stations. However, ministers for the CSSD, as government partners, were surprised by Friday’s immediate introduction of stricter measures in northern Moravia. He responded to Petříček’s call for dismissal by saying that it was a matter for the coalition partner.

According to Daniel Pawlas (KSČM), a member of the parliamentary health care committee, communication between the Ministry of Health, the regional hygienic station and the governor’s office failed, which had “tragic consequences”. According to him, even during the committee meeting, it was not stated by the representatives of the Ministry that the epidemiological situation in the Moravian-Silesian Region would worsen. Everyone was surprised, including representatives of the region and President Ivo Vondrák (YES). He announced that he would demand justification for the new anti-epidemic measures that the hygienists ordered on Friday in the region with immediate effect.
