Pertamax Prices Rise Followed by Increases in Salaries of Pertamina’s Directors and Employees, Ujang Komaruddin: Blessing for them, but suffering for the people

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — When the price of fuel rose, it was followed by an increase in the salaries of directors and employees of PT Pertamina. The increase takes effect from April 2022. As is known, as of April 1, the price of Pertamax has increased to Rp 12,500 per liter.

“Blessings for them, but suffering for the people,” said Ujang Komarudin, a Political Science Lecturer at Al-Azhar University Indonesia, Saturday (2/4).

The government’s policy of increasing fuel prices in the midst of today’s economic uncertainty actually shows that the Indonesian state is mismanaged.

“When people scream because of rising prices caused by rising fuel prices, their salaries go up,” explained the Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR).

Pertamina’s Board of Directors will make salary adjustments as agreed by both parties while taking into account the Company’s Budget Work Plan (RKAP).

“The 2021 and 2022 salary adjustments will be realized, implemented for all Pertamina workers next year in April,” said the Director General of PHI and Social Security at the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri in a statement at the end of last year. (pojoksatu/radarbali/jpc)
