The competitor confides in Monia some of the situations that marked her adolescence
After Mirko’s exit, Perla seems disoriented and since this night she can’t help but think about her life with him, their past, the mistakes she made. Monia has recently joined and doesn’t know the details of this relationship, so the contestant rewinds the tape and tells her the salient stages of this complex relationship.
Between one episode and another, however, Perla returns to unpublished memories, perhaps never openly confided: “I had a really difficult adolescence”. The girl explains that she frequented the wrong crowd, did things that she shouldn’t have done at the age of fifteen. “I didn’t look like a little girl, I looked like an adult” Perla says again. She felt cut off from the world and reading her disappointment on her family’s faces was heartbreaking.
Then came karate: “Sport changed my life and saved my life” continues the competitor. Having rules, following training, using her time and her sacrifices to improve herself, is perhaps all she needed. In this way she managed to change, to grow, to change that path that wasn’t leading her to where she wanted to go.
From there, then, the meeting with Mirko, in a period in which she didn’t want relationships, she didn’t want serious commitments, but love overwhelmed her. Today, she is no longer the lost little girl, but a woman who wants to try to build her future. She doesn’t know where the new roads in front of her will take her, but she says she is ready to face the unknown.
