Perla Santalla, an actress who shone in memorable novels and on the big screen, died

The actress Perla Santalla, with more than 70 years of experience and recognized for shining in countless Argentine soap operas and for her performances on radio, theater and cinema, He died this Wednesday at the age of 95.

Information was confirmed by the Argentine Association of Actors through a statement in which he lamented the physical loss of the actress.

“We regret the death of the actress Perla Santalla. With a trajectory of more than 70 yearss, he distinguished himself for his works in film, theater and television. We accompany his family and loved ones in this moment of great sadness,” they highlighted in a statement.

Amelia Alba Santalla was born in the heart of Buenos Aires, on January 24, 1928. From a very young age she took her passion for acting to radio and theater. She had countless starring roles in novels such as “The Strange Lady”, “El Rafa” or “Don Juan y la bella dama de él”.

The actress took her first steps in the theater when she was just a child. At four years old, she participated in “The Dead”, by Florencio Sánchez, on a tour that she shared with her parents, also artists. In the beginning she joined the casts of the Teatro Nacional Cervantes and also the Teatro General San Martín.

Perla Santalla also stood out in countless plays such as “Hipólito y Fedra”, “El conventillo de la Paloma”, “Las mujeres wiseas”, “Edelweiss” and “El gran deschave”, among others.

On television, Santalla worked in very popular strips from the ’90s onwards: “El sodero de mi vida”, “Costumbres argentinas” and “Mujeres assassinas” are some of his memorable works.

During 1998, the Argentine Association of Actors and the Senate of the Nation presented him with the Podesta Award for Honorable Career.
