A life-threatening situation has arisen on the island of La Gomera after a landslide. Several eyewitnesses filmed how a lot of boulders fell from a cliff. A disaster was narrowly avoided: the debris ended up barely a few meters next to some caravans.

The unrest could clearly be heard from the bystanders. At one point, the cloud of dust became so large that the eyewitnesses decided to flee to a safer place. The beach was subsequently closed to the public.
A rescue operation was immediately launched. According to Ángel Víctor Torres, president of the Canary Islands, there were no casualties as if by miracle. Some vehicles did get buried under the rubble. Landslides dare to occur more often in the Canary Islands.
