Paraguay coach Eduardo Perezo praised his team’s performance against Argentina in the match that ended in a 1-1 draw in Round 3 of the South American qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
In a press conference after the end of the match, Pereso said: “I commend the great efforts made by our players. I congratulate the team for preserving the result, and then we will go out in pursuit of victory at home. Our defense allowed us to score in a difficult stadium.”
Pereso added: “In the first half, there was a smooth progression forward. In the second half, we had a difficult time recovering the ball. Certainly there are things that must be improved. The match required a lot from us in terms of defense, I wanted to recover the ball more than that.”
For his part, player Fabian Balboina said: “We are satisfied with the result, I think that all the teams are difficult and what we are working on with the coach we are trying to implement on the field.”
And the West Ham United player concluded: “Now we have to think about the next game and become strong at home,” referring to the match against Bolivia in Asuncion next Tuesday in the fourth round.
