The busiest hour was traditionally between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning, when the O2 network connected over 1.7 million calls and processed 1.4 million sent SMS.

Data traffic grew by 79 percent. According to Mikšovská, the biggest record holder in the volume of transferred data this year was Instagram, which transferred 550 percent more data than last year. At T-Mobile, data traffic increased by 35 percent year-on-year to 1,435 TB. People used the data more intensively than on a weekday from 8:00. The highest traffic was from 22:00.

The number of calls in the T-Mobile network increased by five percent to 16.7 million. Voice traffic has traditionally been significantly lower than on a normal weekday, but compared to last year, it has increased significantly, according to Kateřina Mikesková from the press department. Vodafone’s network connected almost 11 million calls on Christmas Day, which is 16 percent less year-on-year, the number of SMS decreased by 15 percent. The use of data services increased by 89 percent compared to last year and the largest data traffic was between 21:00 and 22:00. Of the foreigners in the Czech Republic, most visitors from Sweden used the Vodafone network. However, due to this year’s situation, there were significantly fewer of them in the Czech Republic than last year. Thanks to this, however, calls abroad increased significantly, with Slovakia in first place, followed by Germany and Poland.
