Retirement benefits are indexed once a year – in March. When calculating pay rises, two indicators are taken into account – inflation in the context of retirement farms and real wage growth in Poland. These two factors will mean that in 2022, retirees can expect a high increase in benefits.

Indexation of pensions 2022 – by how much will benefits increase?
Even by 4.89 percent – this is how much pensions may increase in 2022 compared to the currently paid benefits – this amount was entered in the state budget. However, the amount of the increase is likely to be higher than assumed. All because of record inflation – this is higher than assumed by the government. The Central Statistical Office (GUS) informed that in August 2021 it reached 5.4 percent on an annual basis. High increase in prices will have to be compensated in the indexation of benefits. Underestimated inflation rates will force the government to recalculate the budget.
Therefore, it can be estimated that when the salary increase amounts to 2.5 percent, the overall indexation of pensions will reach 5.4 percent next year – says Dr. Łukasz Wacławik.
