Pension for people with disabilities will be universal in CDMX: Sheinbaum

The resources for economic support will be put in 50% by the capital government and 50% by the federal government and will cover all people without an age restriction, he indicated.

“All people, whether they are boys or girls, or adults, young people or adults who have a disability, will receive this support so that their families do not have a burden, but on the contrary, they receive support from the government to be able to get ahead in a situation as difficult as having a son, a daughter, a father, a mother with some problem, with some disability”, explained the president.

Currently the support consists of deposits of 2,800 pesos every two months; the federal government will contribute 3,000 million pesos to make this universal pension and the entities are expected to contribute the same amount.

Ariadna Montiel Reyes, Undersecretary of Welfare of the Mexican government, explained that this is part of an agreement proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Conference of Governors (Conago).

“We have a very important range of 30 to 64 years who do not receive a pension or any support,” he said.
