Regent of Banyumas, Ahmad Husein restless about the Hand Catch Operation (THERE) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (NCP). Hussein asked the anti -corruption agency to first call the district heads to be arrested.
Husein is a PDIP cadre who has served as regent since 2013. Now he is entering his second period. Before occupying the seat of regent, Husein served as deputy regent for the period 2007-2012.
As a regional head, he has assets worth a total of IDR 5,993,648,015, which was reported in the LHKPN dated January 22, 2021. Husein’s wealth increased by around IDR 854 million from the report one year earlier.
Quoting elhkpn.kpk.go.id, Husein is recorded to own 13 plots of land and buildings in Banyumas with an estimated value of around Rp. 4,438,580,000. The two plots of land and buildings are inherited, while the rest are self-made.
He also has movable assets such as a 2011 Toyota ACV4OR-JE car worth Rp90 million; Honda Jazz All New 1.5 RS CVT worth Rp240 million; Mazda CX 5 car worth IDR 200 million; and a Honda Scoopy with a value of Rp. 20 million.
In addition, Hussein also reported ownership of other movable property amounting to Rp155,654,900 as well as cash and cash equivalents of Rp953,477,115. It also has a debt of Rp104,064,000.
Previously, a short video showed Achmad Husein talking about the OTT of regional heads at an event. The video has also gone viral on social media.
In the video, Husein pleads that if the KPK finds a regional head making a mistake, he will not be arrested immediately. The owner of the title Kanjeng Pangeran Haryo (KPH) Adipati Purbowinoto from the Surakarta Sunanate asked the KPK to summon the regional head first.
“We are regional heads, we are all afraid and don’t want to be OTT. So we ask the KPK before the OTT, please if we find mistakes, before the OTT we are summoned first. If it turns out that he has changed, then he is released. changed, just arrested sir,” he said.
Husein has also clarified the video clip of his statement about the KPK OTT which went viral on social media. He said the video was a snippet of discussion activities in the realm of corruption prevention held by the KPK Prevention Coordination and Supervision Team (Korsupgah), not taking action.
“What is called prevention is prevention, not action. Actually there are six points that I convey, one of which is about OTT. With the consideration that OTT removes and eliminates regional heads,” said Husein.
KPK chairman Firli Bahuri asked all regional heads to focus on running the government and not worry about OTT as long as they do not violate the rules. Firli ensured that all actions taken by the KPK were always measurable and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
“Don’t be uncomfortable with Corruption Eradication work as long as you feel you are right in using state money and carrying out your mandate as a leader elected by the people,” he explained to reporters, Monday (15/11).
