According to Valérie Pécresse, “Islamo-leftism is a reality at the university. ”However, the president of the Île-de-France region considers that it is this phenomenon which led to the questioning of two Sciences Po Grenoble teachers, accused of Islamophobia. For the former Minister of Higher Education, invited this Sunday from BFM Politics, the establishment must file a complaint against the students who are behind these accusations.

Otherwise, Valerie Pécresse points the finger at the responsibility of the student union Unef, which according to her “is in full swing, in full wreck” and “must dissociate itself from its branch of Grenoble (…) without delay”.

“When teachers are thrown as food and accused them without any proof, by putting them almost a target behind their backs, I consider it intellectual terrorism”, she is alarmed.

“Pressure from the Islamists”

Personally, the former President of the Republicans of Ile-de-France says “obviously alongside these professors who are wrongly accused, who are pilloried”. In the eyes of the one who may be part of the right-wing contenders in the next presidential election, what happened at Sciences Po Grenoble is “denouncing”.

“I don’t forget what happened to Samuel Paty. I don’t forget what happened a few weeks ago to Didier Lemaire, the professor of philosophy at Trappes, who for 20 years taught philosophy (…) and who had to give up his vocation under pressure from the Islamists, “she says.

Thus, Valérie Pécresse sees behind these events the pressure exerted by “Islamo-leftism”, which she defines as being “a political current which minimizes, which denies the danger of Islamism for French society”.
