Central Executive Committee (DPP) PDIP impose a verbal reprimand on the Central Java governor Pranow Award in connection with the declaration of being ready to become a presidential candidate (candidate) in 2024.
PDIP DPP chairman Komaruddin Watubun said Ganjar’s statement caused controversy in public opinion, even if it did not violate party rules.
“So that justice is served to all members. We communicate that we will impose a verbal warning on Pak Ganjar Pranowo as a framework,” said Komaruddin at the PDIP DPP office, Jakarta, on Monday (24/10).
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said the party also instructed all cadres not to mention the 2024 presidential candidate on October 7.
“This letter is very clear, it cannot be interpreted otherwise. So Pak Ganjar is believed to have violated Instruction # 4503 / internal / DPP / X / 2022,” he said.
Ganjar Pranowo had declared his readiness to run for president on October 18. Ganjar explained that all party members must be ready if they want to become president.
However, a few days later Ganjar changed his statement. He said the decision on the presidential candidate was the full authority of PDIP general president Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Meanwhile, FX Rudy fully supports Ganjar in the presidential race. Rudy said he was ready to support Ganjar one million percent. However, he is still awaiting the final decision of PDIP general president Megawati Soekarnoputri.
“If Mr. Ganjar is ready to run for president and the president general (Mega) gives recommendations, not just one million percent, we will give it to win the presidency,” Rudy said when he was contacted on Thursday (20/10).
In the aftermath of his statement, Hasto representing the party as PDIP Secretary General stated that he would summon Ganjar and FX Rudy for clarification.
“We will also provide clarification regarding Mr. Ganjar’s statement,” Hasto said after the opening ceremony of the Interormas Youth Friendship Badminton Tournament at GBK Arena, Jakarta on Sunday (23/10).
