With the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2), the EU obliged banks to set up interfaces (APIs) through which third-party service providers can access the payment accounts of bank customers (open banking). At the same time, it created the legal basis for more secure and innovative European payments. The Innopay Open Banking Monitor 2023 highlights the services that have developed as a result in the B2B and B2C areas. Here we present an excerpt from the report.
