Pat Maroon didn’t make friends by calling the Panthers “chicken”

Since the start of the playoffs, the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning have offered us hockey that lives up to expectations.

There is talent per square foot in Florida. In addition, it brews en masse. The two clubs combine finesse and robustness with an intensity worthy of spring encounters. That’s exciting.

There is no doubt that we are witnessing a growing rivalry. Moreover, the animosity between Florida and Tampa Bay is more and more palpable on the ice, and some take pleasure in inflaming it.

Yes, I’m talking about you, Pat Maroon.

On Tuesday evening, the 33-year-old veteran mocked several opponents, as they retreated to the locker room.

No one likes to be called a sissy. With the gestures, it’s even worse! The situation could easily have escalated, but the Panthers preferred to withdraw wisely, the face low.

Pat Maroon, in the footsteps of Brian Boyle

Looks like Lightning players have a thing for duck dancing.

During the 2016 post-season meetings, Brian Boyle had also taunted the opponent by spreading his imaginary wings. His target: a 6 ′ 2 ″ specimen weighing over 210 pounds called Justin Abdelkader.

Sloppy, TB players.

Regarding Maroon, this is not the first time that he has made the enemy cringe. We remember that in September 2019, he flashed an invisible Cup ring at the Preds bench… Wild.

Coming back to the series that interests us, even though the defending champions won the first two duels, it is far from over. The Panthers will sell their skin dearly, even as they prepare to play the next two games in hostile territory.
