Passenger Forced to Give up First Class Seat for Flight Attendant to Sleep: United Airlines Controversy

Jakarta

This passenger was very disappointed. Already sitting pretty in first class seats, but told to move to economy class. That’s it, the seat was occupied by a flight attendant.

Reported from Mail Online, Saturday (3/6/2023), a newly engaged couple traveled from London to Chicago. They are named Danielle Schwab and Mikey.

For their engagement, Danielle’s parents gave her a first-class flight ticket as a gift United Airlines. This happy moment continued on the plane.

While comfortable in his first class seat, Mikey is approached by a flight controller. He said they needed the chair Mikey occupied.

When asked the reason, Danielle and Mikey were shocked.

“We need a Mikey seat for a flight attendant to sleep in,” said flight controller.

Danielle’s blood was boiling. How could they get treatment like that in first grade.

Worse yet, they not only moved Mikey’s chair but also his class.

“We need to downgrade you to premium economy,” the officer added.

Danielle is adamant that Mikey stays in his chair. It’s just delicious, I paid a fortune and was told to move to economy class.

The airline kept forcing Mikey to move. If you want, Mikey will be transferred to another flight to get the same class, but Danielle doesn’t want to be separated.

This flight drama certainly ended dramatically, Mikey finally moved to premium economy class and gave up his seat for flight attendants who wanted to sleep.

Until now, Danielle claims that the airline has not provided any compensation. The story went viral on TikTok.

In a statement, United Airlines said the reason behind the incident.

“The seats we normally reserve for crew members did not work properly on this flight, so we had to send them to premium economy instead of canceling the flight,” the statement said.

A spokesperson for United Airlines said they would refund the difference in branded seats and each get a voucher worth USD 1,500 for the next flight.
