Passenger cruise ship killed by monster wave in Argentina

An American woman has died after the cruise ship she was on was hit by a so-called monster wave. Four people were also injured.

The Viking Polaris cruise ship was en route to far southern Argentina when a storm Wednesday caused a huge wave to crash into the ship. Photos show that the windows of the cruise ship are broken. It appears the 62-year-old woman was killed by flying glass.

Viking Cruises mentions one accident and sent his condolences to the family. The Viking Polaris has now returned to the port of Ushuaia in Argentina. That’s where the damage was measured. For now the ship will remain in port for checks.
