Part of Strasbourg city center will become pedestrianized throughout the summer

As part of its Pedestrian Plan, the city of Strasbourg will pedestrianize part of its city center. Voted last May, this plan aims to ensure that “ all residents can access on foot or by bike, anywhere and anytime, independently and safely, to their daily needs (jobs, housing, care, shops, leisure) and by traveling only short distances ». Thus, from July 1 to August 31, only pedestrians will be accepted in certain areas of the city center at times defined by the city.

The sectors concerned will be pedestrians from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and all afternoon on Saturdays. Services by vehicle will remain possible every day between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. then from 11:30 p.m. to 11 a.m. the next day and only from 11:30 p.m. to 11 a.m. from Saturday to Sunday. During these time slots, vehicles must drive slowly and give priority to pedestrians and cyclists. At the same time, on-street parking will be completely and permanently prohibited (except rue Brulée and quai Sainte Attale).

« The owners of a private car park can obtain, on request, a badge for permanent access. via the terminals located rue de la Courtine and rue des Récollets, also specifies the City. Alternative parking solutions will be offered to holders of a permit residing on the road in residential zone 2. They will have the possibility of parking on the street in neighboring sectors (in zone 4, 6 and 7) or of benefiting from a Résideo subscription in the P3 car parks of Les Halles and Petite France. ».
