Celebrity secrets: What inspired your determination and perseverance?
Parker Matthews: “Hi, celebrity secrets! Thanks for meeting me! I’d say my biggest inspiration to persevere is hearing the stories of other great artists. One of the truly unique aspects of working in entertainment is that no two success stories are alike. Everyone has a different background, but we have one thing in common: we never give up on ourselves and our dreams.
CS: How did you conquer your neighborhood to move to Los Angeles and follow your dreams?
evening: “It was a trip to Europe to see friends that made me realize that if I really wanted to do this, I couldn’t stay in my hometown of Pittsburgh… I had to go where the heart of pop music was. : LA! Get over it very simply by learning new designs and going to the studio to make everything better with writing!
CS: What advice do you have for those who may want to leave their situation behind to achieve their goals?
evening: “I say go! I was so scared that if I stayed home and didn’t follow my dreams, one day I would really regret it, when I was older, and I would think to myself, “What if I try?”
CS: What was your favorite part of making your latest EP?
evening: My favorite part was writing about it. It made me weak because it was the first time I was putting together a collective work of art to start telling my story. It is a part of my life that I have never shared before, where I really grew up and became who I am today.
CS: Between singing and singing, if you had to choose one, which one would it be and why?
evening: “Although I really enjoy composing songs, if I had to choose, singing would be easy. Singing is therapy for me. I can’t really put my feelings into words, but singing is a part of me. This is what I do and who I am in my heart ”.
CS: Have you collaborated with prominent songwriters / producers – what were your favorite collaborations and why?
evening: “I’d say my favorites were Mia Maria and Michael Bloom. The three of us wrote my latest single, Layover, and it was a truly unforgettable session. We work so harmoniously together and really enjoy the whole journey. Even though I cried for much of this session, writing this post and telling my story was a moment I will remember for the rest of my life. I and I have written a few more songs together since then, and I can. I can’t wait to share it with you!
CS: What can you tell us about your latest single ‘Stop?’
evening: “Stop” is by far my favorite track I’ve ever written and recorded. As much as the song is about the emotional breakup I caused this guy, the irony is that he was actually in Los Angeles when we met. We hit it incredibly well; It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. However, he had to leave to return to his native Europe. Even though we stayed in touch and got back together when he got back to Los Angeles, he met someone else at home and is now seeing this guy. Stop. “
CS: I have worked with artists (eg songwriters) who span many musical genres / I have worked with a variety of artists; What is your favorite musical genre and why?
evening: “I would say my favorite type of music is pop because it always has to be Something new at the forefront. But my favorite kind of song is a song. When I sing a song, it connects with my soul and I am one with the song.
CS: Is “Downtime” a taste of what we can expect from you in the future?
evening: “Absolutely! I have more stories I’ve written and I’m very excited to share them! I love dance records too, so I’m working on some of those too! I will have an audio version of” Stop “out on October 23 in the near future and I don’t see wait to share it!
CS: What are your goals for 2022?
evening: “My goals for the rest of 2022 are still to write and record new music so I can be ready for 2023! I have an album coming next year and some festivals too! “
CS: Since we’re celeb secrets, do you have a secret about yourself or your music that people don’t know about you?
evening: “The funny thing that most people don’t know is that I feel bad. I’m also very good at imitating others out loud! “
