With a speed of 27,000 km / h, this rocket could, for example, allow it to travel from Sydney (Australia) to Zurich (Switzerland) in 50 minutes or from Los Angeles (United States) to Shanghai (China) in just 36 minutes. .
One hundred passengers in the rockets
On the other hand, flights would not be made from one airport to another as in the case of airplanes. In the beginning, the rockets should take off from platforms located in the sea: “Once this technology is mature, we can safely consider firing and landing platforms on the mainland,” said the president of SpaceX.
In total, one hundred passengers could board a Starship rocket for these intercontinental flights. No price indications have yet been disclosed. Finally, on the subject of comfort, “we go to great lengths to make these flights as smooth as possible,” said Gwynne Shotwell.
