DAVOS – Hockey players from Pardubice defeated Canada 4:3 in the semi-finals of the Spengler Cup, although they were still losing 1:3 at the beginning of the 57th minute.
Lukáš Radil started the turnaround with his second goal of the match, and after Martin Kaut equalized, Slovakian forward Matej Paulovič decided 39 seconds before the end. On Sunday at noon, Dynamo will meet host Davos, who defeated Sweden’s Frölunda 4:3 in extra time, for the triumph. Last year, Prague’s Sparta was also in the final, losing to Ambri-Piotte 2:3 after separate raids.
Pardubice had the first better chance, but Hyka did not beat the Canadian goalkeeper Dell in the seventh minute. However, Sedlák fouled immediately and Dynamo had to defend itself from being weakened. Goalkeeper Klouček was lucky when Joly finished it only into the side net. In the middle of the third period, Košťálek did not take advantage of a good opportunity, on the other side, the equally flowing Grant fell.
The start to the second part went well for the Canadians, who took the lead in the opening seconds. The East Bohemians forgot about Hazen, who shot over Klouček without preparation. In the 25th minute, however, it was balanced when Radil leaned into the puck perfectly and swept the far upper corner of Dell’s goal. Before the half of the match, Pardubickí played their first power play, Ang escaped in a weakened position, but Klouček saved the balance.

Sedlák did not use a good chance. In the 38th minute, Pardubice celebrated the leading goal, but after the intervention of the Canadian substitute, which reached the coach’s challenge, Buček’s shot went wide – the referees canceled the goal due to Mandát’s contact with Dell in his goal area. The Canadians took the lead less than two seconds before the second intermission thanks to Grant’s stop at Zohorn’s penalty.
And the Canadians rejoiced even at the end of the third act. In the power play, he first missed a great chance by Zohorn, after which Grant went to the break even in his own weakness, beat Klouček with a clever finish on the ice between the concretes and celebrated his second goal of the day. Jooris’s strike from the 49th minute could not pay due to the game with a high stick, but even so it seemed for a long time that Pardubice would not be able to make a breakthrough.
Unreal conclusion
In the 55th minute, however, Smith helped them by throwing the puck into the stands. They soon strengthened the advantage by playing without a goalkeeper, and Radil also scored for the second time this evening. At the end of the 58th minute, Dynamo tried again without Klouček, and even in this case the risk paid off when Kaut equalized at 3:3 at 58:37.
Even that was not all from Dynamo. 44 seconds later, Paulović made a fantastic turn. In three minutes and 17 seconds, after three goals by Pardubice, everything was different, surprised Canada was no longer able to equalize.

Davos is in the final after 11 years and decided it after 51 seconds of Henrik Haapala’s set-up. Joakim Nordström gave the home team the lead in the 5th minute, but at 14:55 Erik Borg equalized from the stop and after 123 seconds of the second half, Carl Klingberg turned the situation around.
In a minute and a half, another Swede, Dennis Rasmussen, brought Davos back into the game, and in the 36th minute, Enzo Corvi put the hosts in the lead. Malte Strömwall forced a set-up seven minutes before the end of regular time. Haapala opened the match after a separate action with a shot from the left circle.
