The residential area is next to Skydive Hilversum, where the man was in training. “It is a student who has jumped about ten times”, says Edwin de Kok, chief instructor at the club. “He probably pulled or broke something during the jump. He managed to save himself a bit, but it prevented him from steering.”
It is rare for a paratrooper to be injured during the jump. De Kok does not yet know exactly what happened. “We haven’t spoken to him yet. In any case, it is very annoying. These are things you would rather not see happen.”
