Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has received offers for Lucas Paquetá, amid rumors that Arsenal made an offer for the player.

Mikel Arteta is a man on a mission this summer and he knows that the players who have already joined the club are very good, but not enough to return to the Champions League places next season.

It is believed that he would like to add a couple of midfielders to the side who will add depth, add a bit more quality and help cover for players who might be missing for the start of next season.

And that has caused constant speculation in the media that Paquetá is a player that Mikel Arteta would love to add to his squad in the coming weeks.

The Brazilian currently plays for Lyon in France, where he reinvigorated his career after struggling at Italian giants AC Milan, and his performances attract a number of big clubs.

Recent claims have suggested Arsenal have put in a bid for the player, believed to be in the region of £34m, which they hope will be enough to close a deal.

Now, amid speculation, Aulas has told reporters when asked about the rumors circulating around a prized asset: “There are proposals for him.

“There are certain players who can feel complete in the project and others who don’t.

“Economically, we have the means to pursue our ideas and goals.”

The Lyon coach added: “The coach gave us his opinion and there is also what the players want to do.”

It’s very easy to see why Arsenal want Paquetá, he’s been impressive in French football, but then again, why try to sign a player who doesn’t want to leave?

The only thing that will convince him to move to London is a huge salary, and Arsenal don’t want to sign players who just want money.

So it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Kante move done –

It has been claimed that Arsenal have contacted Chelsea about a possible deal for French midfielder Ngolo Kante.

Kante is one of the best holding midfielders in the game and a player everyone at the club can rely on, especially in those big games when the back line needs to be more protected.

But he is out of contract in the summer of 2023 and there have been some rumors that he is a player Thomas Tuchel is willing to let go in this transfer window after leaving him behind for the clubs’ pre-season tour.

Mikel Arteta wants to bring a defensive midfielder to the Emirates and believes Kante would give the backline that protection they have been looking for in recent seasons.

And the report also adds: Kante could be available at a bargain price, with just 12 months remaining on his contract.

Look, there are probably some big players coming in the summer, as the new owners will want to put their stamp on the team, but they have to make sure they don’t lose Kante.

There is no player who can do what he does in that chelsea side, and losing him, especially in a possible free deal next summer, would be a big mistake for the club and we hope that it does not happen.

If the reports are true and Arsenal they’ve made their moves to try to close a deal for Kante; he surely could be a player who would have a huge impact on the clubs chances of breaking into the top four next season.

Paul Merson has urged Arsenal to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic after the Gunners submitted a bid for the player.

Mikel Arteta is a man who has been fully supported in this transfer window and has managed to pick up a couple of signings who should make an impact at the side next season.

The Spanish boss has signed the likes of Matt Turner, Marquinhos, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus, but now it looks like Milinkovic-Savic is on the Gunners boss’s shopping list as he could be a replacement for Granit Xhaka.

writing on his Daily Star Columnthe ex-Gunner said: “Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has had a good summer in the transfer business following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, but of the first-class midfield signings he was able to make, one player stands out. .

“Tielemans from Leicester would tick the box for Arsenal. It would be a decent alternative. But Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the player he would go for.

“If Arsenal get either of those two, they will have had a significant window. Now more than ever Arsenal need a top midfielder to compete with the best. And I think Savic is a lovely player.

“A really top level player. From the way he played for Lazio last season, I personally think he is the best midfielder in Italy.”

If the reports are true and Arsenal they have made an offer to try and secure the services of Milinkovic-Savic – he is the type of player who will add some power to that midfield

He really is a classy midfielder and this will be an interesting story to follow as he is certainly a player who would add a bit more quality to the Gunners midfield.
