20,000 calls received
In three months, no less than 20’000 calls were received. The hotline was reachable every day from 9 h to 21 h. Respondents were for the most part on call from Civil Protection (PC) who quickly had to manage concerns about a newly discovered virus. The “Geneva Tribune“ had met end of March these mobilisés of the PC.
“Due to the decrease in the number of calls and the change in their nature, those responsible for the ORCA-GE system have decided to suspend the activity of the Geneva hotline,” said the press release.
From the 5th June, the Ddivision of the santé recommends that people with symptoms or who want medical information about the coronavirus immediately contact the new number +41 22 427 88 00, which answers all non-emergency medical calls 7 24/7 24 hours a day.
