O Palm trees now it’s up to them to win the 12th Brazilian Championship cup in their history. This Thursday, the Botafogo they drew 2-2 with Fortaleza, in a delayed game of the 29th round of the Brasileirão, and ended up with 61 points, in second place.
With the Rio team having played the same number of games as Verdão, the Palmeiras team remains in the lead, with 62 points. Now, Palmeiras is the only team that only depends on its results to seek the title.

The team led by Abel Ferreira has four more duels until the end of the competition, two of them at home: against América-MG and Fluminense, and two others away, Fortaleza and Cruzeiro.
Next Sunday, Palmeiras will go to Arena Castelão, for a duel with Fortaleza, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time), valid for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship.
Finally, this Thursday, the Red Bull Bragantino wasted the chance to equal Palmeiras’ score. In a delayed clash in the 30th round, the team from the interior of São Paulo was defeated by Flamengo, away from home, 1-0, and maintained 59 points. With the result, Rubro-Negro from Rio reached 60 points and jumped to third place, two points behind Verdão.
Massa Bruta maintained 59 points and fell to fifth place – the team is tied with Grêmio in terms of points, but loses in the number of victories.
