Thirty years ago, his son Anantha Padmanabhan posted a photo of a secret ring exchange that took place in front of director Padmarajan’s film. “Hi Anna, I met Ponniyin Selvan last week. The image is fantastic and the performance is incredible. Nambi is actually a comic version of the madman from Marthandavarma, Channan. You’re lighting up the area the character is coming from. It was Nambi’s performance that changed the whole mood until then and brought him to a lighter mood. Pappan is right, I did it after I did his homework. This is the most important character in that book.
