Overwatch: Blizzard to test team composition in 3-2-1 with Laboratory mode – News

The Laboratory will open its doors today in Overwatch with a first experiment. Blizzard will allow players to try a new team composition in 3-2-1 thanks to the “Triple Damage” mode.

Test important game modifications (modes, balancing, rule changes …), which can then be officially deployed or not, and collect player feedback: this is the objective of the Laboratory, a new menu that will appear today in today Overwatch.

An initiative that will launch with the “Triple Damage” mode, which will allow to try the team configuration 3 DPS – 2 healers – 1 tank (the usual composition is type 2-2-2). Since there will be only one tank, significant balance changes will also be made to the offensive tanks, namely D.Va, Chopper and Zarya. The purpose of this experiment is in particular to study the results on the queue, with the objective of reduce the waiting time to find a game while playing DPS. In the video below, Jeff Kaplan clarifies that these changes are not final and that they may never happen in classic games.
