Overcoming the Thai Couple in the 2020 Thomas Cup, Fajar Alfian Rian Ardianto reveals the key to success: Okezone Sports

AARHUS – The Indonesian pair, Fajar Alfian / Rian Ardianto managed to win against Thailand’s men’s doubles Natthapat Trinkajee / Tanupat Viriyangkura in the fourth Group A match in Thomas Cup 2020. They won by two straight games.

The match took place at Ceres Arena, Aarhus, Denmark, Monday (11/10/2021). In just 30 minutes, Fajar/Rian managed to win two straight games with a score of 21-9 and 21-12.

Fajar/Rian played compact and aggressive. Through a fast and varied game, the 2018 Asian Games silver medal winner was too strong for Natthapat Trinkajee / Tanupat Viriyangkura.

For this victory, they managed to extend the breath for the Indonesian badminton team. The reason, Fajar / Rian can equalize against Thailand to 2-2.

Because in the previous match, Jonatan Christie had to lose to Kunlatvut Vitidsarn in two straight games. Jojo – his nickname – was arrested with a score of 11-21 and 14-21.

After the match, Fajar admitted that he really enjoyed the game. Meanwhile, Rian said he did not think about Indonesia’s lagging condition. He admitted that he just wanted to perform as much as possible in order to achieve victory and the results were proven.

“It was a good game. All the games can come out,” said Fajar, quoted from a release received by MPI, Monday (11/10/2021).

“When I played, I didn’t think about Indonesia’s position, which was 1-2 behind against Thailand. We just think we want to play well and give our best to the maximum,” said Rian.

In Fajar/Rian’s eyes, the opponent only played monotonously. Not much variety of attacks. Just play power. With such a pattern, the Indonesian representative is more comfortable serving the opponent’s game.

“We are more comfortable. Our attacks are more varied. Not always loud and tight. Sometimes cross, chop, and brake the opponent’s shuttlecock,” concluded Rian.
