Over 500 fully vaccinated coronary heart disease – NIPH is not concerned

More than 3 million Norwegians have been vaccinated with the first dose, and almost 40 per cent of these have been fully vaccinated. Of the 1.7 million who have been fully vaccinated, a total of 529 people have nevertheless been diagnosed with coronavirus, writes NRK.

According to FHI its weekly report it constitutes 0.03 per cent of the fully vaccinated.

In Bergen, there have also been registered cases where fully vaccinated people have been infected. These usually become much less ill, confirms chief infection control doctor Egil Bovim.

– No vaccine is 100 percent effective, but there are no more cases than expected in a city as large as Bergen, he says.

– If you get symptoms, you should get tested, even if you are fully vaccinated, Bovim adds.

Chief physician Preben Aavitsland at FHI says that infection among fully vaccinated people is expected and not worrying.

– Vaccination does not completely protect. Therefore, there will be some cases of infection among vaccinated, but those cases will mainly be less serious, he says to NRK.

– There is very little infection among fully vaccinated, and very few serious cases. This is positive. That is precisely why we vaccinate, he explains.
