Over 40% of the population exposed to the tiger mosquito in the majority of the Occitanie region

The return of sunny days is also that of the tiger mosquito. The latest figures published by the Directorate General of Health allow us to better examine the Occitania region.

The temperatures are on the rise and sometimes even summer in this deconfinement. The tiger mosquito, he is back. The Directorate General of Health made a progress report. Occitania keep staying massively affected.

Exposed region

In a map showing the population exposed to the title mosquito, a trend is confirmed: the south of the country is particularly affected. Occitania, just like the New Aquitaine and the region PACA, is one of the most affected in the country. Proof : the percentage of exposed population.

It is greater than 40 in 10 of its 13 departments. Only the Lot, Aveyron and the Lozere have a percentage less than 40. But Hautes-Pyrenees at Gard going through the Haute-Garonne, the Tarn or Ariège, the population is therefore very exposed to the Aedes Albopictus.

In the Gard, Hérault and the Eastern Pyrenees, the implantation is even more pronounced since more than 40% of municipalities are considered colonized. Only nine departments in France are in this scenario. In the rest of the region, the percentage is less than 40.
