During the first lockdown in March, I described in the newspaper how it felt not to be allowed to visit my parents in the Vincenthove residential care center in Roeselare. I was especially afraid that they would not recognize me anymore. That turned out well afterwards. At our reunion in May, we celebrated that everyone had survived the first wave. But now my parents have both died of corona in five days. I hope this story provides comfort to families who are currently experiencing the same thing.
