JAKARTA – Declarator of the Coalition for Action to Save Indonesia (US) General TNI (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo conveyed a number of things while giving remarks in the WE declaration at the Proclamation Monument, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (18/8/2020). Gatot talked about proxy war and mass biological weapons.

“If these days we hear and see that our motherland is in trouble, I want to invite us all to remember a few things,” said Gatot.

First, said Gatot, on March 10 2014 he had the opportunity to have a dialogue with the academic community of the University of Indonesia. At that time, said Gatot, he was talking, among other things, about a proxy war which was a tremendous threat to the sovereignty of a nation.

“The control of a country by other powers no longer has to be physical, but can use proxies, intervene in elections and elect officials, for at times these officials can be controlled and even become puppets for other interests that are not the interests and goals of the state,” said Gatot who was flanked leader of the 1926 Nahdlatul Ulama Khittah Committee Prof. Rochmat Wahab and former Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Din Syamsuddin.

This, continued Gatot, is exacerbated by the growth and development of the oligarchy of power in this country, power is played, managed by groups of people and even more unlucky for all of us they do it under the mask of the constitution.

“Is it true that this is happening in our country now? It is the Indonesian people who have the right to answer,” said the former TNI commander.

Second, continued Gatot, on October 24, 2017, after the opening of the international conference, he said that we should be aware of the threat of mass biological weapons created to paralyze other countries and potentially create an epidemic.

“These days we are all struggling with epidemics Covid-19. I am not suggesting that my statement three years ago was entirely correct. But again, these days we have been and are facing a pandemic that is not easy to subdue. Especially if the response to this threat is met with an easy attitude, “said the general who was born in Tegal, March 13, 1960.
