“Other boys” shine in Turin in preparation for the Eurovision semi-finals

This Tuesday, May 10, at 10 pm, the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest is expected from Turin, where the song “Eat Your Salad” by the representatives of Latvia, the group “Ciri boys” will be performed as the second.

Albania, Switzerland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Ukraine, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Denmark, Armenia, Austria, Croatia, Iceland and Greece will compete with Latvia in the Eurovision semi-finals. All the participating countries will be able to vote – including Latvia (of course, not for their own), as well as the representatives of the so-called “big five” Italy and France. From the events of Saturday in each semi-final, that is, ten countries will qualify for the final concert, but Germany, France, Spain, Great Britain and Italy will traditionally have seats in it.

On Sunday, “Other Boys” took part in the opening ceremony of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Venus Castle in Turin.

A total of 40 delegations took part. “For the first time, the Latvian delegation received so much attention!” The head of the Latvian delegation, Guntars Gulbins, was delighted. “Other boys” were interviewed for four hours and such media interest cannot be gained either during rehearsals or behind the scenes! As you know, appearing in the media of other countries can play in the favor of the audience in the vote, so this day was especially important for Latvia in the context of Tuesday’s semi-final. ”

The group’s soloist Jānis Pētersons said similarly: “This ceremony was not just a huge party in beautiful costumes, it was a great opportunity to be used after the full program, and we are glad that we did it. Interviews in English, conversations with journalists, singing songs by other participants – these are things we know and do with great pleasure, and it is evident that foreign media appreciate it. ”

For reference: the group “Other Boys” consists of Jānis Pētersons (vocals), Dagnis Roziņš (vocals and saxophone), Reinis Višķeris (keyboards), Krišjānis Ozols (guitar), Roberts Memmēns (bass) and Toms Kagainis (drums).
