Ostrava hygienists will face a lawsuit. They have taken the work of thousands of people, the initiative says

The new platform wants the court to declare the hygienists’ orders invalid so that similar steps cannot be repeated. At the same time, organizers of cultural events and service providers want to determine the exact methodology for announcing similar measures in the future and want to have their representatives in crisis staffs. Such fundamental restrictions on freedoms, which occurred last week in the Moravian-Silesian Region, should always be proportionate to the situation, which did not happen in this case, according to the initiative.

According to Karolína Skórková, the founder of the initiative, the form of the lawsuit is now being tuned by lawyers. “We want the court to make it clear that it will never be possible to do this again in the future,” Skórková said, adding that no one has anything against wearing veils and other hygiene measures, but that it is unconceptual and that hygienists do not deal with the effects at all. At the same time, they are devastating for the whole sector and have far-reaching economic consequences.

As the director of the Beats for Love festival Kamil Rudolf said, for example, the festival lasts only a few days, but a large team of people work on it throughout the year. At the time of the event, the festival employs about 4,000 people, including sound engineers, lighting fixtures, security guards and hundreds of suppliers for various other services. The attendance of tens of thousands of people then has a very positive impact on the economy of the whole region. According to him, what happened last week is a dangerous precedent that must not be repeated.

“In my opinion, it is not possible for someone in the rule of law to make such a serious decision from minute to minute, which will affect so many thousands of lives and destinies of companies,” Rudolf said.

He also described as a big problem the legal uncertainty in which the organizers throughout the country found themselves, who in the current state do not know whether the result of their year-round work will not be wasted.
