Osteopathy for Newborns: How Laura Found Relief for Her Son’s Discomfort

In photos in which she cuddles with her son, Laura writes that she has the so-called newbornphase is anything but easy. ‘There is a lot of uncertainty involved because I now have to guess, [er] a search has started to help my son and because a baby communicates through crying I don’t understand it much yet.’

Laura notes that little Cinco ‘isn’t quite chill’ when he’s awake. “I notice that something is not quite right with him, so we have now been to an osteopath twice,” she writes.

Osteopathy falls under the alternative medicine. An osteopath looks for movement blockages, determines whether that limitation may cause complaints in a child and tries to remedy the complaints with gentle massage techniques. “There were some physical discomforts with him, with his neck, his pelvis and back and also here and there on an emotional level,” says Laura about the findings with her son. ‘Babies are naturally so sensitive and, despite being so small, experience everything!’

According to Laura, after two treatments, her baby is “already more balanced” and “calmer and calmer when awake.” ‘He may also have to ground himself well and with lots of cuddling, giving kisses and drinking a good drink we’ll get there together.’

Laura and her partner Ryan have had a rough time with their daughter Giulia, who is almost two years old. In September 2021, their daughter will be picked up after 34 weeks when Laura is discovered to have preeclampsia. The girl has to stay in the hospital for a while. Fortunately, Giulia is doing well, but conceiving a second child turns out not to be easy at all. Laura therefore calls the birth of son Cinco ‘a miracle’.

RTL Boulevard is allowed to visit the family this summer, where Laura looks back on her special birth:
