For OSC coach Dennis Ley it was the expected close game: “Hemelingen tried everything in the final offensive to keep at least one point. We were missing the third goal for the necessary security. Nevertheless, I saw today that we can not only do it playfully, but also use fighting means to win a top game in our favor.”
There was also special praise for the 19-year-old Kilian Hartmann, who impressed in defense from the start in the second game against such a top-class player in the league. The guests benefited from the early lead through Jan-Niklas Kersten (11th), who perfectly completed a combination via Mehmet Ari and Jari-Pekka Ley.
Felipa shows no signs of tiredness
This was followed by a hit on the crossbar and a multi-legged Hemelinger defense that prevented the score being 0-2. Marcel Wagner (39th) finally managed this with his head, as Sandro Felipa fought tirelessly for the ball and then had an eye for the free-standing Wagner. The previous league runner-up only got going slowly, hitting the crossbar of the OSC goal or failing because of Niklas Grießmeyer’s great parry.
After the break, everything got a little wilder. Another goal would have given the “Olympians” security, but the home team instead made it 1:2 (75th) through Daniel Janke. The connection was due to the ever increasing pressure. But the Seestädters held on and brought the deserved victory to the finish line.
OSC: Griesmeyer – Olatunji, Wagner, Jari-Pekka Ley (75. Sablotny), Ari (75. Nankishi), Adam, Schlake, Hennen (61. Weber), Hartmann, Felipa, Kersten (89. Pleus)
Goals: 0:1 (11th) Kersten, 0:2 (39th) Wagner, 1:2 (75th) Janke.
