The Orient Express is causing a stir in Antwerp on Tuesday. Normally you only see the famous train from Agatha Christie’s book on its regular route between Venice and Switzerland, but currently the Orient Express makes a return journey between Paris and Amsterdam. He also drives on the Antwerp-Essen line. Due to the bad weather in the Swiss Alps, the train was seriously delayed.

The Orient Express was supposed to make a stopover in Antwerp on Tuesday evening, but that did not take place. On the radio, among other things, it could be heard that the train would stop at Essen station around 8.30 pm, after which a hundred enthusiasts went there.
But because there is no station master in Essen, no one is told that the train has been severely delayed. According to the latest forecasts, the Orient Express would stop briefly in Essen around 10 pm.
Many children are also involved, such as Vic (13) from Essen, who was disappointed to hear that the train would not arrive until 10 p.m. at the earliest. “But it’s a unique opportunity,” says the young spotter who will return later in the evening.
