Austria is actually too small for a road movie. People from Scheibbs are said to have come to Nebraska already, but that is only possible with the delimitation that a good song or a good humiliation brings with it. Or a very good film. Ordinary Creatures by Thomas Marschall was filmed in Lower Austria and in the Znojmo area, so it leads more from Hollabrunn to Chvalovice than from Scheibbs to Nebraska. But if you were to tell someone where the film is set, then you could answer: anywhere and nowhere, on the border of the absurd, in the world province of cinema.
