Orange offers 10 GB of additional data to its mobile customers, and 20 free-to-air TV channels

With the announced extension of the confinement at least until April 15, the incumbent operator has decided to work hard to satisfy its subscribers.

A few days ago, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe officially extended the containment due to the Covid-19 pandemic at least until April 15. On Monday, March 30, Orange unveiled new advantages offered to its customers during this complicated period. The operator offers data to its mobile subscribers and free-to-air channels to its box customers, Orange and Sosh.

10 GB valid for 30 days

Orange announced Monday to offer an additional 10 GB of mobile Internet to customers who have consumed their entire data envelope, as an option accessible from April 1, 2020, both for Orange subscribers and for Sosh customers . The idea is to allow people who lack data and who need it more than ever today to benefit from it.

The company specifies that the option will be offered until April 30, 2020 to approximately 16 million customers, up to a single option of 10 GB per customer. It will be automatically submitted to subscribers who have consumed their data. They will then receive an SMS with a link necessary to activate the option, which must then be used within 30 days. If a subscriber has not consumed all of the 10 GB offered once the 30 days have been reached, the remaining data cannot be carried over to the following month.

Orange, like its competitors

In addition to the data for mobile subscribers, Orange and Sosh customers with an Orange TV decoder will have access, from April 2 to 20, 2020, to a total of 20 free-to-air channels. Youth, entertainment, cinema, sport or music, there is something for everyone. Subscribers will be able to enjoy Canal J, Boomerang, Toonami, Manga, Paris Première, Teva, Paramount Channel, TCM Cinéma, Action, ES1, MyZen TV, Automoto, Mezzo and Trace Latina free of charge.

Until now, Orange offered the four OCS channels and five youth channels to its subscribers. The market leader operator has therefore considerably increased the benefits offered to its customers, in line with its competitors Free, SFR and Bouygues Telecom.
