On Tuesday evening, rescue workers from the Cologne fire brigade found a male person on the right bank of the Rhine in the Poll district as part of a search. The man had been handed over to the rescue service, said the Cologne fire brigade.
It was unclear whether the person was suicidal on the banks of the Rhine. According to initial information, the operation concerned a person in the Rhine. The man handed over to the rescue service was apparently never in the river. (ps)
