OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has come back to say he’s afraid of the generative AI he helped develop.

In an interview with the Times of India, Altman said he was so stressed that he became insomniac after launching the ChatGPT chatbot.

He told reporters that they at OpenAI had done “a really bad thing”. He added that he does not believe that the launch of (GBT chat) is a bad thing in and of itself, but that the launch of the bot is too late and he no longer has much influence on what happens next.

The OpenAI CEO also added that he was concerned that “there will be a rush” in creating new AI systems that may contain complexities that he and his peers did not understand before they were launched.

Of course, Altman’s admission of insomnia differs from the previous times he has admitted his concerns about artificial intelligence.

For months, Altman has been making public statements about his concerns about the future of artificial intelligence, and concerns about competitors who might create evil algorithms.

He then decides to sign an open letter warning that artificial intelligence will cause humanity to “extinct”.

“I think it’s weird when people think I’m not serious about saying I’m a little scared,” Altman said earlier this year.

And while it’s really odd for a money-making guy to be afraid of AI, these statements line up with other things that are known about Altman who has previously revealed that he’s preparing for doomsday, and boasts of having an array of weapons and gas masks in case of an AI-driven disaster.

It should be noted that Altman never acknowledged in any of his previous statements that OpenAI should not have launched ChatGPT.

In the interview, Altman talks a lot about the “job change” that his chatbot will bring about, ignoring the fact that humans are already losing their livelihoods, because myopic executives have chosen to believe that AI is better than humans.
