Education, science and innovation have always lived from the exchange of ideas. Teams of researchers work on the challenges of today and tomorrow and find very good conditions for this in Switzerland. But Switzerland is not an island. In the global competition for attention and talent and due to its small size, our country is dependent on intensive exchange with its neighbors. In the current debate about the future relationship with the European Union, the future prospects for trainees, students and researchers must therefore not be forgotten.
